one-sentence guide to pitching #2: attachments
Thanks to Shankman (again) - the nearly-one-sentence PR guru:
Sending files attached to your email to a reporter without them asking for it: Usually a bad idea. Sending 1.8 megabyte, 4.6 megabyte, or ELEVEN POINT SEVEN MEGABYTE files? Super amazingly horribly bad idea. DON’T SEND MONSTER FILES WITH EMAILS ON FIRST-PITCHES. In fact, don’t send files at all. Just trust me on this. If a reporter wants an image, they won’t hesitate to ask. I promise.
